Smoked Beef Kabobs
Tender sirloin chunks with vegetables, kissed with smoke.
Jump to RecipeSmoked beef kabobs are my answer to "I want BBQ but don't have all day." These flavorful skewers deliver that beautiful smoke flavor in a fraction of the time, making them perfect for weeknight dinners that still feel special. Plus, there's something fun about food on a stick that makes everyone happy.
These kabobs are fantastic for summer cookouts, backyard birthday parties, or casual dinner parties. They're great for gatherings where you have guests with varying appetites since people can easily take one or several skewers. Kids especially love them - something about food on a stick just appeals to young eaters.
Serve these kabobs over a bed of fluffy rice pilaf or warm pita bread with tzatziki sauce. Grilled vegetables, hummus, and tabbouleh make excellent Mediterranean-inspired sides. For a heartier meal, pair them with roasted potatoes or a fresh Greek salad with feta cheese and olives.
Mix up the vegetables based on what's in season - zucchini, mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes all work beautifully. Try different marinades too: teriyaki for an Asian twist, chimichurri for South American flair, or a simple lemon-herb version for Mediterranean vibes. You can even alternate beef cubes with bacon-wrapped shrimp for surf-and-turf skewers.
Cut your beef and vegetables into similar-sized pieces so everything cooks evenly. If using wooden skewers, soak them for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning. The smoke time is short, so make sure your smoker is at temperature before the kabobs go on.
